Twenty-five Probus members and guests boarded a coach bus on Wednesday, December 10 for an overnight trip to Victoria.
Upon arrival at Butchart Gardens on Wednesday evening, a delicious buffet dinner was served in a private room at the Blue Poppy restaurant. From 6pm to 8pm, everyone strolled around the Gardens to enjoy the beautiful “Magic of Christmas” light displays and Christmas carolers … with no crowds and no rain!
The bus arrived at the Chateau Victoria about 8:30pm for room check-in (see "Lego Chateau Victoria" in the photos below). Some people went out for a nightcap or to find some live music.
Thursday morning started with a buffet breakfast at the hotel’s Vista 18 rooftop restaurant. Then lots of free time to wander around Victoria’s inner harbour.
At 2:30pm, the group climbed on the bus to Ladysmith to enjoy cinnamon buns from a local bakery and to drive through the town’s “Festival of Lights.” Everyone arrived back home by 7:30pm.
Kudos to our expert bus driver, Tony, and our friendly tour host, Shane. And, many thanks to Steve Ray for organizing this fun bus tour for Glacier members!
